Painted this bamboo pot which waited enough for my attention. After seeing the final result I feel it was 'worth the wait' This pot is a mix of 'Walar painting' and Rajasthani style of wall painting.

The Angels

The background of my aquarium was falling into pieces. I have been thinking of getting a new one, but this was the last of my priorities :(
Now, with my newly found freedom, I have several hours to spare. I tried giving colors to my beautiful 'Gold Fish' in the aquarium. My brother got me several sheets of wallpaper to paint, but being born in the part of the world where wallpaper is still unheard of, I did not know which colors to use. I used my usual water colors and realized that they refused to stay on the paper and kept spreading all over the wallpaper. WOW! I thought this is something new. Then, I tried oil color, acrylic and a mixture of all three and finally saw my angels swimming for the 'Gold Fish.'

This was my first try with the new pastels.

The moment I got them, the first thing I painted was this small hut, the blue sky and the river :)

I think this theme has been closest to my heart since childhood. Although the mountains are missing and the hut looks a bit shattered (I was in a hurry to complete it), I felt too happy to have a feel of these smooth pastel colors. Pelikan pastels are the best.

Setting Sun

One of the beautiful moods of nature captured with crayons.

I saw an old box of pastel colors in a kutti (small) stationary shop in Thippasandra market lying unwanted. Found it affordable as it was a very old set and hence the price tag was also not affected by inflation :)

The colors were one of the smoothest pastels I have ever used. I was craving to see their effect and chose this photo to paint which was clicked in the deserts of Rajasthan. Well to add to it, I feel to watch the setting sun in Rajasthan is one of the most mesmerizing moment

The Dawn

After a tiring day at office, I wanted to let the bright colours on paper fight the dullness of the mind.

Although could not suceed much as mind did reflect itself in the darker shades but the desire for brightness had also shown itself in form of the colorful rays of sunlight.

Buddha Leaves

This painting helped me take a step into the world where my  internal calling for painting can also give me a career. This is the first painting which I designed and posted on etsy.com for sale. I seek Buddha's blessings for the success of this new endeavour. I am going professional now :) 

Flower for the Butterfly

I was trying to put my new painting on the wall and the moment I removed the earlier painting to make space for the new one, I saw remains of a butterfly landing on my bed. Don't know how long this beautiful creature had been there and when it passed away behind the 'Red Flowers'.  This painting in wax crayons is a tribute to the beauty which I wanted to capture forever.

Madhubani Peacocks

This one came out as another leisurely activity. I never took this painting as something beautiful untill it got framed. The bright colours of this painting has brought life to the dull wall of the room. Planning to try this madhubani art on an apparel; thanks to these peacocks, i feel like trying out more of this style now.

The Buddha

While doing my Vipasana course I always used to imagine Buddha with his curly hairs, sitting under the bodhi tree, guiding people away from their myseries. It took me quiet long to bring those thoughts together and paint the Buddha.

The Twin Ganesha

This was my first try with oil colors. My hubby gifted me with 'easel' and a set of oil paints on my B'day. The canvas and the brightness of the colors was so attractive that I couldn't stop experimenting ...

Till now I had  used only water and poster colors, working with oil was tough and needed lots of patience to finish this one. This painting is for Rubal, who helped me rediscover the lost love of mine.

The Expression

An expression of a Kathakalli dancer captured on canvas with oil colours. With water colours, I was moving, rolling, flowing... chucking out paintings like a factory. Oil gives a breather, time comes to a standstill, everything halts in this eternal bliss. I just sit and paint, wait for paint to dry, and paint and wait and paint and it goes on in a cycle till I have a smile on my face. Still waiting for a smile for this one.
